Panliska is representing West Finland Clusters in Scotland to enable companies to link up on business opportunities, developing skills and research activities.

The Vaasa Energy Cluster covers some 120 companies several of which are global market leaders. Total annual business turnover for these companies is around €4 billion export rates is 70% (30% of Finland's total export in energy technology. Currently employing 10,000 with estimate to double employment by 2020.

Companies in Finland are looking for new markets both for direct investment and joint ventures with local partners and also in engaging in the supply chain. The companies have expertise in wind turbines, and castings but also in aspects of marine engineering including wave and tidal. Apart from looking at Scotland as a location, there is also scope for Scottish based companies to discuss involvement in joint ventures in the wind energy sector in Finland itself.

Vaasa Energy Week 22-23 March 2016

Scottish stand already booked for 2016. Previous participants on Scottish stands in Vaasa have included UKTI, Met Office, DNVGL, Sgurr Energy, Linknode, Natural Power and University of Strathclyde.

Bespoke meetings can also be arranged to develop joint ventures and investment opportunities.

Funding package for 2016 is the actual cost of stand divided by number of participants ( e.g. £300 per company if 6 participants) + gala dinner and lunches £70 per person + £250 per company facilitation fee.

Trade mission to Helsinki October 2015


Arriving Helsinki on Monday 26th October 2015 for a two day programme + attendance at Finnish Wind Power Association seminar on 29th October. Deadline for signing up for this mission is 21 August 2015. Costs £250 (per head) to cover actual event registration fee + £250 facilitation fee ( per company).
